By placing files in Leviy, all users have the necessary files at hand at any time and at any location. In this article, we distinguish between adding a new file and adding a new version of a file. To do this, follow the steps below:
For both, it starts with the step below:
1. Navigate to Files through the main menu

Add file
To add a file, follow step 1 listed at the top of this article.
After this, follow the steps below:
2. Click on the file category for which you want to add the file
3. Click on Add at the top right to add a file
4. Enter the required information
a. Select file
- Click on Browse or drag a file to the window
- Choose the file you would like to add
- Click on Next
b. Characteristics
- Add the tile of the file under Title
- If desired, enter a more detailed description in the file under Description
- Click on Next
c. Links
- Link the file to the desired entities (clients, objects or unit categories)
- Click on Save to add the file
Tip When adding a new file the file title is automatically taken over. If you still want to give a file a different title it can of course be edited.
Take note
- For each file category, it is set which user type(s) are allowed to view or manage the files of the category.
- The file types supported are: txt, pdf, doc, docx, xls, xlsx, ppt, pptx, png, gif, jpg, jpeg, mp4. Where pdf, png, gif, jpg, jpeg and mp4 are supported in the reader.
- If you find out that one of the entities (clients/objects/unit categories) is missing, you can adjust this in the settings of the category.
Add new version
Files can become obsolete for many reasons, resulting in adding a new version on a regular basis. To ensure that an abundance of old files is not left in Leviy, we provide smart versioning. When a new version is added, it will replace the old version, so that users always have the latest version.
To add a new version of a file, follow step 1 listed at the top of this article.
After this, follow the steps below:
2. Click on the file category where the file is located and click on the file
3. Click on Add at the top right to add a new version
4. The screen for adding a new version is displayed
a. Click on Browse or drag a file to the window
b. Click on Save to add the new version
- The old version is saved under the Versions tab on the file's overview page
- The new file automatically receives a version number
Tip When adding a new file the file title is automatically taken over. If you still want to give a file a different title it can of course be edited.
