Groups, Roles & User Types are the basic configuration for configuring a user profile.
In Accounts, you can associate Roles, Groups, and User Types to a user.
What is a Group?
A group is part of the permissions assigned to a user and determines which clients, objects & units a user has access to. Every new and existing user is therefore linked to a group. For every group, it consists of a collection of clients, objects & units. This can be:
- a selection of certain clients, objects & units
- the total of clients, objects & units in an organisation
Whether you add a certain selection of clients, objects, and units to a group or the total depends on the function a user performs; think of a cleaner who performs work at one object, a district manager who is responsible for several clients and locations or the application manager who needs to have an overview of all clients, objects & units.
Setup

Want to know how to manage an existing group? Then read on here.
What is a Role?
A role is part of the permissions a user has in Leviy and, together with the user type, determines what a user is allowed to do. You should therefore associate each user with a role. Each role consists of a collection of rights/permissions.
Which rights/permissions a user has depends on the tasks and responsibilities he has; think here of a cleaner who registers performed tasks, a controller who performs a check or an application manager who configures and plans tasks and checks.
Setup
Want to know how to create and manage a new role? Then read on here.
Important information A role in Leviy is only active when you link it to the required module. Example: you link the role of site manager to a checklist definition so that the site manager can access the checklist in the app.
What is a user type?
A user type belongs to the basic configuration of a user and, together with the role, determines what a user is allowed to do in Leviy.
To simplify the management of permissions (read: roles) in Leviy, user types have been introduced with fixed logic. Indeed, different roles can cause a lot of ambiguity within an organisation; this because different roles can create a lot of ambiguity within an organisation.
The current user types will also evolve as we continue to develop, and thus contain more and more logic that fits daily practice. Gradually, more and more permissions will be removed from the roles to include them in user types.
Important information We are continuously improving the logic behind the user types. On this page you will find the latest information about the logic behind the user types.
Below you will find an overview of the current logic of the various user types:
